Publishing and unpublishing custom engines gives control to system administrators and users with manage engines permission over who can translate documents with an engine, and a way to prevent using engines in production.

The following table outlines which users can translate documents using an engine, depending on its published state:

All new engines are unpublished by default, and must be published before users with translate documents permission can use them to translate documents. This also covers usage via CAT tool plugins.

Publishing an engine

Go to the engine you want to publish and click the Publish button.

Unpublishing an engine

Go to the engine you want to unpublish and click the Unpublish button.
